JaxPAL and STEM2 Hub Host Football STEM Camp for Jacksonville Youth !!

 In Uncategorized

The inaugural JaxPAL Football STEM Camp was a success! This FREE camp, for youth ages 5-16, featured football agility drills and interactive STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) activities including computer coding and robot building.

The camp featured a BIG surprise giveaway – all 200 youth participating in today’s camp received a voucher from Northeast Florida Regional STEM2 Hub and Microsoft for a FREE computer to further their STEM learning!

Former Jacksonville Jaguars player, Moe Williams, spoke to the campers about the importance of making good choices, surrounding yourself with the right friends, obeying your parents, and being relentless in your focus to fulfill your destiny. In addition, DJ Smoot, Defensive End with Jaguars, made a special guest appearance!

The STEM field is the fastest growing field in our country, yet many children—particularly at-risk children—often remain detached from STEM interests. Combining sports and STEM activities bridges that interest gap, providing these children with the opportunity to succeed in a future STEM career.

A very special thank you goes out to our amazing volunteers, sponsors, and partners—
