Since Code Break began, we’ve seen guests from different backgrounds and industries come together with students from across the globe. We thank you for continuing to tune-in, interact with us, and support computer science learning in your home. As the school year comes to an end, this week’s Code Break will also be our last and we have an extra special episode planned!

Last week, we welcomed Susan Wojcicki and China Anne McClain on Code Break to discuss abstraction. If you missed it, you can still watch the episode and try the activities.  This week, we’re excited to welcome singer-songwriter Aloe Blacc, President and COO of Salesforce, Bret Taylor, and Senior Software Engineer Manager at Microsoft, Paola Mejia Minaya. Together we’ll learn all about how computers work.

NASEF Offering Free Esports Activities and Learning for Students at Home Due to School Closures

NASEF taps its network of esports and learning professionals for daily online streams to give students social connections and fun learning opportunities in a safe, moderated environment

(Orange County, CA – March 15, 2020) – The North America Scholastic Esports Federation (NASEF) is launching free daily “Community Club” sessions for students beginning Monday, March 16 and continuing daily as needed. NASEF is tapping the collective expertise of its education, gaming, and social partners to present quality ongoing programming. The interactive online gatherings will provide fun activities, socialization with friends (without physical contact), development of game skills, and insights into the careers and lives of professionals working in the esports industry.

Jacksonville (1/28/2020) — Kathleen Schofield, Executive Director of Northeast Florida Regional STEM2 Hub has been invited to join Jacksonville Business Journal Leadership Trust, an exclusive community for influential business leaders, executives and entrepreneurs in Jacksonville.

Kathleen was chosen for membership by the Jacksonville Business Journal Leadership Trust Selection Committee due to her experience, leadership and influence in the local business landscape and beyond.
