STEM2 HUB AND FPL TEAM UP FOR 2025
Students can explore endless possibilities with our robotics programs, designed to ignite curiosity and foster a passion for STEM careers. We support teams at all levels of the FIRST (For Inspiration & Recognition of Science & Technology) family of programs across Florida, as well as drone and aquatic robot programs. As advocates for the next generation of STEM leaders, we have increased our financial support for 2025 robotics sponsorships. We continue our partnership with STEM2 Hub to help manage and administer the program for us across land, air, and aquatic robotics.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the growing popularity of STEM sports, the FPL education team will adopt a different funding schedule in 2025 to align with the competition schedule and improve planning.
There will be two funding seasons:
January 1 – May 31, 2025
July 1 – October 31, 2025
Teams may apply only once per season. For example, if a team is funded in the winter/spring season, they may reapply in the summer/fall season. There are budget caps for robotic sponsorships and if funds run out before a season’s end, they will not be replenished until the next season. This seasonal funding shift helps us support teams with high travel expenses to regional or national competitions.
Please see our service territory map to determine where our land, air, and aquatic robotics programs are offered. We direct our resources to clubs and classes at public, private, and charter schools at all grade levels. Unfortunately, we cannot extend support to clubs or classes outside FPL’s service area. Please note that FPL serves the areas marked in green, blue, red, and grey on the map.
Once applications are reviewed, it will take up to 45 days from processing to receive payment.
